BIOGRAPHY

Once described as “wonderfully manic” by Patrick James Clement of Parterre, dramatic mezzo-soprano Eowyn Driscoll is known for fearless interpretations, a rich, flexible voice, and performances that place storytelling at their heart.

Equally at home in Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary repertoire, she is drawn to works that reward close reading and emotional honesty.

Increasingly, her work extends beyond individual performances to the creation of programs that explore questions of memory, belonging, history, and the human experience.

Whether on the concert stage or developing interdisciplinary recital projects, she seeks to create performances that invite audiences not only to hear the music, but to encounter it in new ways.

Her characterization of the murderous queen had a wonderfully manic dimension. Upon hearing the news of Orestes death, her outsized reaction—forced, hysterical laughter—provoked an unnerving ambiguity:

was she rejoicing or grieving?
